DOORUS HOUSE is a traditional hostel set in a stunning location overlooking the Burren Mountains and Kinvara Bay.

        
    It is the perfect place for families, groups and individuals of all ages who enjoy the outdoors and want to experience Irish country culture, music, nature and the unique geology in an idyllic setting.

THE HOSTEL
The hostel has 56 beds in dormitory and private room accommodation. The house also offers a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, large dining area and relaxing common room with a real turf fire on the cooler Irish evenings. Warmer nights will often find people enjoying their meals at the picnic tables or playing a game of volleyball. Other features include Internet access, meeting rooms, a small shop in reception and free Irish movies in the evening.

HISTORY
The Count de Basterot built the historic house in 1866. In September 1897 WB Yeats (Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature 1923), Lady Gregory and Edward Martyn met with the Count to start the discussion leading to the formation of the Irish National Theatre.
