The house also offers a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, large dining area and relaxing common room with a real turf fire on the cooler Irish evenings. Warmer nights will often find people enjoying their meals at the picnic tables or playing a game of volleyball. Other features include Wifi, a meeting room and a small shop in reception. HISTORY The Count de Basterot built the historic house in 1866. In September 1897 WB Yeats (Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature 1923), Lady Gregory and Edward Martyn met with the Count to start the discussion leading to the formation of the Abbey Theatre.
