SUPPORT THE SOCIETY

Francis Fahy's songs (Queen of Connemara, Galway Bay, The Ould Plaid Shawl etc.) have won a place in the hearts of many both at home and abroad. Born in Kinvara, Co Galway, he was a founding member of the Gaelic League in London and of the Irish Literary Society, which led to the foundation of the Abbey Theatre. During his lifetime he generated a new sense of pride amongst the Irish in Britain.
Wit, humour and determination were the keys to his success.
