Mountscribe House is a family run bed and breakfast of the highest quality and also the family home of Rose and Joe O’Connor. The O’Connor family has lived in this part of South Galway for many generations and the proprietors have a vast knowledge of the places to go and the things to do in this beautiful part of the world.
Moutscribe House is located 2 miles west of the picturesque fishing village of Kinvara and only 19 miles from Galway City. Kinvara is an ideal base from which to explore the West of Ireland and is conveniently located for easy access from both Galway Airport (30 minutes), Shannon Airport (40 minutes) and Ireland West Airport (90 minutes). Dunguaire Castle, The Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Aillwee Caves, Connemara, Aran Islands, Galway city and Knock are just a few of the many attractions, all within comfortable driving distances so why not stay a few days and see them all.
The village has a wide selection of restaurants and several traditional Irish pubs offering live Irish music nightly. If you get carried away, don't worry, there is a local hackney service that will bring you back to Mountscribe House. The vibrant, bustling city of Galway is only a short drive away or alternatively there is an excellent bus service that runs from the top of the road that will drop you directly into the heart of the city. You can also catch a coach that will bring you on a day tour of the Burren area, Ailwee Caves and Cliffs of Moher. Trácht "Blue Flag" beach is only 2 miles.

Our accommodation comprises three ground floor rooms.

- a double room with en-suite bathroom;
- a twin room with a private bathroom.
Relax after your day touring in our guest lounge with an open fire, a television and a selection of books and leaflets about local history and attractions to help you plan you next days itinerary. We have large gardens front and rear with a wide variety of flowers, shrubs and trees and ample private off-street car parking and separate guest entrance.
You can enjoy a freshly cooked hearty breakfast from our extensive menu - all diets catered for.
